Seasoned Local Industry Executive Joins GenCap Construction Corp. as ‘Fastest Growing Private Company’ Expands its Pacific Northwest Presence

 

Kirkland, Wash. – March 1, 2017 – Kirkland-based commercial general contracting and construction management firm GenCap Construction Corp. (GenCap), one of the fastest growing private companies in Washington state, today announced its named industry veteran Rob Warnaca as President.

           

In his new role,Warnacawill provide executive leadership for the overall business while growing the firm and diversifying into new markets. GenCap currently has several projects underway in cities across the Puget Sound region.

As a 25-year industry veteran, Warnaca most recently served as director at M.A. Mortenson Company in Seattle, where he was responsible for the success of $450M in annual projects from the pursuit stage through their long-term facility operations. He also served in multiple leadership capacities including chief estimator and construction executive on numerous large projects.

 

During his career, Warnaca has received numerous industry awards, including the following projects: Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) for University of Washington (UW) West Campus Utility Plant and Y Student Center. His team also received a Construction Owners Association of America award for the UW Odegard Library and from the American Society of Civil Engineers for the Cheney Baseball Stadium.

 

As an active community member, Warnaca supports and volunteers for United Way Day of Caring and Treehouse for Kids. He is also a member of numerous non-profit boards, including DBIA Northwest (Vice President and Board Member), UW Construction Institute Advisory Council (Vice-Chair) and Washington State Legislative Capitol Projects Advisory Review Board (Project Review Committee Member).

 

A Seattle native, Warnaca holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from the UW, and is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Washington. He is also a DBIA Certified Professional who has professionally spoken on GC/CM, lean practices and integrated project delivery for the AIA, DBIA, UW, Washington State University and the Society of American Military Engineers.
