Kim Vu, a longtime financial executive who most recently served as Seattle Market Executive for Bank of America, has joined Remitly as Head of Diversity Equity Inclusion. In her role, Vu will focus on deepening the culture of belonging at Remitly, recognizing and celebrating the diverse identities, backgrounds and experiences that enable the Remitly team to excel in providing fast, affordable and reliable international money transfer services.
Prior to joining Remitly, Vu led the local Bank of America team in expanding their employee resource groups from five networks to nine networks to create more inclusivity in the workplace. Her work was recognized by being named an EMpower Top 50 Ethnic Minority Leader in 2019.
She joins Remitly, a mobile, international money transfer company, just after it raised $220 million in new funding to grow remittance services. The company’s customer base is primarily comprised of U.S. immigrants transferring funds to family and friends abroad.
“As the daughter of Vietnamese refugee parents, joining Remitly brings me a deep sense of purpose and connection to what we all do every day to connect families across global borders and boundaries,” Vu said.
