After graduating with a degree in political science from the University of Washington, Angela’s interests took a different turn and she pursued a career in wine sales before meeting her husband and business partner, Ethan Stowell. Stowell was named one of the Best New Chefs in America by Food & Wine in 2008 and chosen as a Best New Chef All-Stars in 2013.

In 2010, after successfully opening their first restaurants: Tavolata, Anchovies & Olives. They have since gone on to open 12 additional restaurants such as Fancy Mercantile, Ballard Pizza Company, Rione Xlll, Bar Cotto, Red Cow, Goldfinch Tavern in the Four Seasons and several others in neighborhoods across the city. Angela manages the business side with over $16 million in annual revenue and oversees 275 employees.

In 2010, they launched Lagana Foods, an artisan pasta line, and began consulting for the Seattle Mariners. Their work with the Mariners helps to bring local products into the stadium. They were the recipients of the 2016 Richard Melman Innovator of the Year Award.
