INTO THE GREAT WIDE OPEN

Hiking, snowshoeing and cycling are my go-to activities outside of the brewery.

FUNNY BUSINESS

“The Daily Show” with Trevor Noah makes the day’s news a little more bearable.

FAVORITE SPOT

The wooded trails at Golden Gardens.

THE GREAT UNKNOWN

I grew up at Iowa Lakeside Laboratories, a summer research center for biologists, botanists and chemists on 100 wooded acres on Lake Okoboji. My parents were the caretakers and my sister and I had free run of the property.

Stoup is an independently owned craft brewery and tap room in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle.
