Evergreen Treatment Center (ETS), a nonprofit that confronts the twin challenges of opioid addiction and homelessness in western Washington state, has welcomed Chris Johnson to the team as their interim executive director. Johnson will lead all aspects of ETS’ work.

“We are delighted to have Chris on the ETS team,” said ETS Board Chair Elizabeth Wells. “His background in nonprofit leadership, internal and external communications, and fundraising will bring a critical perspective to our fight against the opioid epidemic and homelessness crisis in western Washington.”

A veteran in the nonprofit sector, Johnson brings 25 years of relevant experience to ETS. Most recently, he served as chief executive officer for Mending Kids International, an agency that provides critical surgical care to youth in developing countries and the United States. Johnson has also served in leadership roles for both the National Kidney Foundation and the American Red Cross.

“I’m thrilled and honored to step into this new role. I am so lucky to work with this team of smart and fiercely passionate staff. ETS is transforming the lives of people and their communities every day,” said Johnson. As interim executive director, Johnson will focus on strategic planning, and implementing practices to improve the organization’s efficiency and effectiveness.
