Bradley Miller named group director for HNTB in Seattle

With 28 years of transportation experience, Miller is responsible for project delivery, operations and technical excellence for multiple departments in the firm’s Bellevue office

BELLEVUE, Wash. (April 17, 2019) – Bradley Miller has been named HNTB Corporation’s Seattle group director, based in the firm’s Bellevue office. An associate vice president, Miller brings 28 years of transportation industry experience to the position. He recently transferred to the Seattle area from HNTB’s Indianapolis office where he was office delivery manager.

Miller joins a team of more than 230 transportation infrastructure and architecture professionals delivering aviation, toll, highway, transit, rail, planning, program/construction management, tunneling and other services to clients in this region. In his new role, he is responsible for overall growth, talent acquisition, retention, sales, project delivery and operational metrics for multiple departments.

“Brad’s demonstrated leadership and knowledge of transportation infrastructure improvements – including aviation, transit and highway projects – will help the office continue to grow and exceed the needs of transportation agencies in Seattle,” said Kevin R. Collins, PE, HNTB Seattle office leader. “With a client-centric mindset and commitment to high-quality work and results, he is a tremendous example of HNTB’s culture and a welcome addition to the Seattle leadership team.”

Since joining HNTB in 2008, Miller served in a number of leadership roles in Indianapolis. He led multidisciplinary teams responsible for delivering results on a dozen transportation mega projects with construction values totaling more than $6 billion. His specialties include design-build, construction management, procurement advisory services and public-private partnerships. Prior to moving to the Seattle area, Miller was project manager for a $70 million design-build, best value procurement with the Indiana Department of Transportation. He also was project manager for the $99 million IndyGo Red Line bus rapid transit project where HNTB serves as the design review and construction management firm for Indianapolis’ first BRT transit line, scheduled to open this fall.

Miller graduated with a Bachelor of Science in construction management from Purdue University. He is active in the American Society of Civil Engineers and previously served in various Indiana ACEC committees.

HNTB established its Seattle office in 1961, but the firm traces its roots in the region back to 1912, when the Columbia River Interstate Bridge between Portland, Oregon, and Vancouver, Washington, opened. The bridge was designed by John Lyle Harrington, a partner in HNTB’s predecessor firm, Waddell & Harrington. HNTB has grown to employ more than 180 professionals in the region who help play a role in planning and delivering high-profile transportation infrastructure projects across the state and around the country.

HNTB’s many signature infrastructure projects in the region include SR 99 Alaskan Way Tunnel; Mercer Corridor improvements in Seattle; Seattle-Tacoma International Airport third runway; second Tacoma Narrows bridge; Sound Transit University Link Light Rail Extension, Lynnwood Link Extension, West Seattle and Ballard Link Extensions and East Link Extension; Washington State Department of Transportation General Engineering Consultant Services for I-405 and SR 509; South Park Bascule Bridge Replacement in Seattle; Mount Baker Ridge Tunnel; historic work on I-5 dating back to the 1960s; and Tilikum Crossing bridge in Portland.
