Taylor Kieburtz
Cofounder and strategy director, Wintr
Fremont; wintr.us

FOCUS: We’re a design and technology company that creates and improves the user experience for technology products and services. Recent clients include CenturyLink Cloud, Wikipedia, Microsoft Halo and Silent Circle.

WHAT I WISH I CAME UP WITH: The principle that good design is as little design as possible.

THING I’M MOST PROUD OF: Our team. We have an incredible depth and breadth of disciplines across strategy, design and technology represented by intelligent, skilled individuals who approach really big challenges with very little ego. What generates a deep sense of pride and ownership is curating a team that’s enjoyable to work with and whose members enjoy working with each other.

CRAZIEST THING I’VE DONE: Start a business during a recession.

I ADMIRE: [Industrial designer] Dieter Rams. Timelessly relevant thinking and making.

VACATION LOCATION: Palm Springs, Tulum, the San Juans. Going to Menorca this fall.

HOW I WOULD BRAND SEATTLE: I would establish a strong strategy based on the diverse needs of people Seattle serves (as home, as a place to visit, as a place of business) and identify the opportunities to emphasize what is inherently unique.
