Alicia Shankland brings over two decades of human resources leadership to foster DreamBox’s mission-driven and innovative culture

DreamBox Learning®, the company that pioneered Intelligent Adaptive Learning™ technology used in schools across the U.S., Mexico and Canada, today announced Alicia Shankland will join the DreamBox leadership team as Senior Vice President of People. In this role, Alicia will be responsible for leading DreamBox’s people and culture strategy to ensure the company’s high-performing teams and mission-driven culture continue to accelerate growth into new school districts.

“High-impact companies are built by people who believe in a common mission, love a challenge and feel empowered to make big ideas a reality – Alicia perfectly embodies this growth mindset, and I am delighted that she is joining our team,” said Jessie Woolley-Wilson, president and CEO of DreamBox. “Our mission to bring high-quality education to every child, regardless of their gender, race or zip code, is only possible if we continue to recruit, empower and retain the industry’s most innovative thinkers. Alicia is the perfect leader to drive that strategy.”

Shankland brings 20 years of experience working with fast-growth, industry-leading technology companies. Prior to joining DreamBox, Shankland was the Chief People Officer and Vice President of INRIX, the global leader in connected car services and transportation analytics. Before INRIX, Alicia served as Global Chief Human Resource Officer for Razorfish, a leader in digital transformation. She managed all people services across markets in the United States, Europe and Asia for more than 6,000 employees working for Razorfish and other digital agencies within the Publicis Groupe.

“I look forward to building on DreamBox’s mission-oriented and innovative culture, and I am excited to have the opportunity to inspire the industry’s top talent to join in as we reinvent education together,” said Shankland.

The K-8 math digital platform has expanded to support more than 3 million students and over 130,000 teachers, delivering nearly 400 million lessons in both English and Spanish across North America. This rapid growth along with a recent $130 million investment from TPG’s The Rise Fund has led DreamBox to expand its leadership team with three new executives in addition to Shankland, which include a new Chief Financial Officer, SVP of Marketing and SVP of Client Experience and Success. DreamBox has also grown its overall workforce by 20 percent this year.
