Winner: GGLO

In an industry that has been at the forefront of sustainability, GGLO is among the greenest of the green. Founded in 1986 and based at the top of Harbor Steps in downtown Seattle, GGLO offers architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning/design and interior design services. The firms landscape architecture team recently made headlines when it contributed to design of the Bertschi School Living Science Buildingthe worlds fourth certified Living Building.

While the Bertschi project on Seattles Capitol Hill gained national attention, GGLO has participated in 20 projects totaling more than 1.6 million square feet of LEED-certified space throughout the Pacific Northwest. GGLOs sustainable expertise is often tapped by clients like the City of Seattles Office of Sustainability and Environments, which hired the firm to assist in the creation of its landmark Climate Action Plan (CAP), adopted by the Seattle City Council in June. As a founding member of the Seattle 2030 District, a public-private collaboration to reduce the environmental impact of building construction and operations in downtown Seattle, GGLO is set to remain at the front of Seattles sustainable movement well into the future.
