If your customers are headed to
China, should you be, too? Doing so is a daunting proposition for small
companies, but Cascade Quality Molding, which makes plastic parts for
everything from medical devices to aircraft components, opened a Shanghai
office and shifted commodity work there, allowing its Yakima plant to
concentrate on higher-end contracts. The result: a revived business with a
broader customer base and even the opportunity to ship products from the United
States to China.
