Ingvar Petursson, Nintendo, Redmond
Employees in Washington: 900-plus
Few Seattle technologists have as much experience rolling out large, complex data centers as Ingvar Petursson. His leadership at Corbis, the Regence Group and Expedia led Nintendo of America to recruit the veteran executive last year as its senior vice president of information services to supervise the overhaul of systems in its new, energy-efficient data center at Redmond headquarters.
Petursson’s long career has been one of innovation, including 10 years at AT&T Wireless building standards and capabilities in that then-fledgling industry. At Corbis, he drove development of the global online imagery firm’s market-leading media search and classification technologies. As CIO at Expedia, he built and managed the global computing platform for that company’s many travel brands, including Expedia.com, Hotels.com, Hotwire, TripAdvisor and Egencia.
Petursson has been a community leader as well, founding the Agora Security Professionals Group and aiding nonprofits such as the Community Health Information Technology Alliance, Music Works Northwest and the Society for Information Management.
