Darold Woodward

Stantec has hired Darold Woodward as an electrical senior project manager in its Bellevue, WA office. Woodward has more than 20 years of experience as an electrical and controls engineer with a career emphasis on municipal facilities, including water and wastewater treatment plants as well as water distribution and wastewater collection system facilities.

Woodward’s prior work experience includes consulting on control equipment used in the electric power generation and delivery industry, hydroelectric generation, design-build projects, SCADA systems, complex treatment facilities, emergency repair or replacement of aging equipment, developing strategies with code authorities to move aging facilities into required electrical and code compliance, and complex roadway management systems. He worked on the I-90 tunnel project on Mercer Island on traffic monitoring, fire detection, fire suppression, closed-circuit cameras, and network and telephone communications.

“With Darold on the team, we now offer electrical, controls and SCADA consulting engineering services in-house to support for our municipal clients with a local, integrated team instead of using external subcontractors,” says Bill Holladay, Stantec principal. “Our plan is to continue to add similar staff expertise to support a wider array of projects and clients.”

Woodward is a registered electrical engineer in Washington. Currently, he is providing on-call support on a contract with Cascade Water Alliance providing day-to-day electrical engineering support for both operations and to assist with capital project design and construction. He is also working at City of Issaquah’s Pickering Place pump station on the upgrades and modifications of two wastewater pump stations.

In the past, Woodward has been involved with the Washington Association of Water and Sewer Districts (WAWSD) teaching ongoing education program through their Water Environment Training Center (WETRC). He has presented papers at the annual conference of the Pacific Northwest Clean Water Association (PNCWA), the regional member association of the Water Environment Foundation (WEF), a professional organization for water industry professionals which is historically the principal wastewater professional organization.
