Manufacturing Corner

Washington state is among the few states in the country blessed with a strong manufacturing sector. We are fortunate to be home to Boeing as well as thousands of other manufacturers of all sizes. Yet Washington is vulnerable to the same pressures of offshoring and global competition that have led to the loss of manufacturing jobs across the country. Seattle Business magazine launched the Washington Manufacturing Awards program because we believe a strong presence in manufacturing is not only an important source of high-wage jobs, but it also provides the critical industrial base required for national security and as a platform for innovation.
