Health Care Corner

While the United States pays more per capita for health care than any other country in the world ($7,421 per person in 2007), it ranks 39th in infant mortality and 36th in life expectancy. Health care has also become a big burden to businesses, whose health care premiums have more than doubled in the past decade. Washington state's health care community has the potential to play a leadership role in finding new ways to provide better health care at a lower cost. Our Leaders in Health Care program was launched to recognized executives, professionals and institutions that are leading the way. We hope you will use this health care corner to exchange ideas about health care. Please submit comments or proposed columns to leslie.helm@tigeroak.com.
