By Seattle Business Magazine December 29, 2010

With Washingtons unemployment hovering around 9 percent, competition for jobs is fierce. The unemployed who previously held long standing positions are finding themselves struggling to adapt to new hiring strategies, including Linkedin.com and employers who want more than just a decent looking resume.

Jobfully.com provides strategies to help job seekers develop a brand for themselves, highlighting the qualities that employers are looking for right now.

Mei Lu, the CEO and Founder of Jobfully, wants to teach people about the best practices in todays job market. Were looking at the job search process, the process of selling you, and we want people to improve their skills in the sales process she said.

Unlike many existing job sites, which provide job listings but little else, Jobfully is a software as a service company that offers three major products: coaching, sales process software, and an online community. Users pay $35 a month with no annual contract.

The products offered are a system to help job seekers develop an effective strategy for finding a job. The process starts with coaching, which provides education on the current strategies and practices for finding a job. The software management system helps keep job seekers organized by tracking job leads, where resumes have gone, and when a follow-up is necessary. The online community is a resource for people looking for support or who have job questions.

Jobfullys focus is currently on people who have been employed and out of the job market for a long time, but Lu is working to make the service available to everyone who is looking for a job. The recently laid off are often overqualified or have work history gaps, but recent grads my not have enough resume items, and they need to know how to transfer classroom and project experience into real world values, she said.

Lu is currently working with marketing students at UW to develop tools to help recent grads find a job. We are really focusing on helping job seekers become better sales people for themselves.
