By Seattle Business Magazine September 24, 2010

Who’s hiring: TechFlash reports that Hulu, the LA-based provider of free TV shows and movies online, is opening an office in Seattle. According to the article:

“Hulu spokesman Brandon Boone couldn’t say how many people the company plans to hire for the Seattle office, though he said the idea is to start small.”

Hulu currently has two software development openings in Seattle posted to their website.

Who’s firing: Northern Kentucky-based Xanodyne Pharmaceuticals is laying off 60 percent of its work force, including three employees in Washington, according to the Washington State Employment Security Department. A spokeswoman for the company told the Business Courier of Cincinnati that the layoffs will not involve the closure of offices. The company expanded its nation-wide sales force in November 2009 during the launch of its Zipsor pain relief medication.
