From our colleagues at Seattle magazine comes this handy guide.

CAPITOL HILL: Jill Wenger is a retail brainiac, having parlayed Impulse, her original subterranean Fremont shop, into a sartorial empire, which now includes clothing and highly coveted accessories for women, the home and, now, men. Wenger opened Totokaelo Man (1523 10th Ave.; 206.623.3582; totokaelo.com) last spring, providing style-conscious men in town and around the world with sweaters from Yohji Yamamoto, chinos from local line Maiden Noir, slouchy drawers from Rick Owens and sweatshirts from Maison Martin Margiela.

KIRKLAND: Asher Goods (13 Central Way, Suite B; 425.576.0683; ashergoods. com) is all about classic, good-looking, solid menswear, with plenty of plaid shirts, great denim, cotton tees and American-made goods in store, such as Seattles Filson, Portlands Tanner Goods and Bridge & Burn, Woolrich Woolen Mills and Tellason Denim. Owners Matthew Lawrence and Jerry Morris care about quality and work hard to provide their customers with well-made goods in the spirit of American heritage.

BELLTOWN: Head to Ian (1919 Second Ave., Suite 100; 206.441.4055; ianshop. com) for smart, colorful, on-trend menswear in a loft-like shop on busy Second Avenue. Perfect for the man who can rock some skinny jeans and pegged chinos, Ian offers denim from Civilianaire, button-ups from Life/After/Denim and outerwear from Nau. A nice selection of womens basics lives upstairs, making it an ideal one-stop spot for the couple who like to shop together.
